I went to Portland's new, reconverted soccer stadium to see the Timbers play the Los Angeles Galaxy team. I must admit, my primary motivation was to see David Beckham who plays for Galaxy. But the Timbers beat Galaxy 3-0, breaking LA's 14-game winning streak. As you can imagine, the Portland fans went wild. Soccer is certainly quite a different sporting event than their old Beaver's baseball team - sell-out crowds and talented players. I sat with my boss in the premiere KeyBank Club section. We had to pay for beer, but everything else was free, starting with a buffet dinner and then hot dogs, pretzels, peanuts, ice cream, licorice, donuts, etc in the seats.
