DaVinci Machines

I went to the DaVinci Machines exhibit today. I thought I'd better get down there while all the kids are off from school. There were over 60 working models, many of which you could operate yourself. It's amazing the devices DaVinci invented using only wood, iron, and linen for building materials. The picture above is DaVinci's interpretation of a "robot." Of course, a DaVinci robot would be wearing a tiny little suit of armor, but the arms, legs, chin, etc all moved due to a small gearing system inside the structure. The picture below is of a war machine. I think it might have injured several of its operators as well as its foes back in its day - our guide kept getting snagged by it.
