I made a collage for our basement media room out of old game boards. Courtney and I bought most of the games from a Salvation Army store in Chicago. The blank boards looked just a bit boring, so I glued on several of the game pieces to give the collage some personality - markers, money, action cards. On a recent trip to Portland, I noticed that a local art store was selling old game pieces for $2-$5 a piece. Objects like my
Monopoly top hat and
Clue wrench cost even more. I figure if I had purchased all the supplies to make this collage from that art store, it would have cost a few hundred dollars. The Salvation Army store was selling the games for $3.
