Courtney and I got up early Friday morning and headed downtown to Michigan Ave. It was so festive seeing all the holiday lights just before the sun came up, and of course the sales at many stores were fantastic. I bought a coat right away at H&M, but then we wandered the whole mile before we made another purchase (a suitcase for Courtney). Believe it or not, after we finished shopping downtown, we headed out to the suburbs and spent the afternoon shopping at Ikea. My car was definitely loaded down driving home.
Courtney works downtown as a structural engineer for an architectural firm. The Burberry Store (below) is one of the buildings her company retrofitted. I always love going to Chicago, because so many of their downtown buildings look like works of art, rather than cookie-cutter concrete boxes.
