I always heard about Voice Over IP networks, but I never had a clue what they were. Basically, it's a landline phone, only nowadays phones can do all sorts of fancy things like video chat. In today's workshop, the teachers "learned" how to configure a VoIP phone system - or rather, they tried. This is one of those things where you type in a bunch of colons, letters, and numbers and get lots and lots of scrolling messages running past on a black computer screen. If you get one colon or comma out of place, nothing works, though how you can tell the difference between that message and the one that implies it does work is beyond me. I don't think I'd last 10 minutes in that profession and I think some of the teachers felt the same way. When we got back from lunch, we had a special guest speaker. Guess who???
