Creative Endeavors

Since it rained all week, I decided to get some of my art projects out of the way. First on the list was the Altered Book project for my Collage Club. I've missed several meetings, because I've been traveling so much, so I decided it was a good time to get caught up. The theme of the first book was famous painters. I picked Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen - not a name that most people recognize like Picasso or Michelangelo, but most people recognize the Art Deco poster he made for the Paris cabaret, Chat Noir. I drew some Art Deco graphics around the outside to jazz up the pages.
The theme of the second book was Frank Lloyd Wright. For this one, I painted 3 pictures of some of his more famous buildings. It was too cold to sit outside, so I painted this after Googling him on the computer.
I saw a tutorial on YouTube about making a Christmas journal called a December Daily. The premise here is that you count down the days until Christmas by writing something in the journal or pasting in a picture - kind of a scrapbook of getting ready for the holidays. I figure December is usually so busy, it will be easy to fill up each page. I seriously doubt anyone makes one for January.
In between these projects, I started cleaning and decorating for Christmas both inside and out. If anyone wants to come visit, they'd better do it quickly, because I only clean this thoroughly once a year.
