Girls Getaway

My sister is a taxi and limo girl. I'm mass transit all the way. Give me a bus or a subway to ride and I'm happy. Better still, if it's close enough, I prefer to walk. So this week when I met up with my sister for a 2-day (27 hours) Girls' Getaway in Chicago, I think I wore her out.
We shopped up and down State Street, the entire Loop (twice), the Magnificent Mile, and the German Christmas Market in Daley Plaza (good bratwurst and potato pancakes). We also looked at the Christmas windows in Macy's, stopped at the Architecture Store across from the Art Institute, drank hot chocolate at the Corner Bakery, and took the train out to Courtney's condo for a Chicago-style pizza dinner.
By the second day, Janet was dragging and decided to head back to the airport a little early. Courtney and I walked her to the train station with explicit instructions to get on the Orange line and not get off until she reached Midway Airport. As luck would have it, the next train to come into the station was Pink, not Orange, and Courtney and I watched in horror as Janet walked right on. I raced out onto the platform and grabbed Janet off just before the door closed. She doesn't seem particularly upset about it in this picture. I'm not sure where the Pink line goes, but I'm guessing my sister would still be on it waiting for the Midway stop if we hadn't pulled her off.
