Happy Valentine's Day
We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day early with a variety of different activities. We started off the day going out to breakfast to a coffee shop that advertises "101 different omelettes." Of course, we didn't see any we liked as well as the corned beef hash for me and the short stack of pancakes for Bruce. Then we went to see the new LEGO movie. Even though I'm a huge LEGO fan, I wasn't interested in the movie, because I figured it would be a big marketing ploy (which it definitely was), but it got such great reviews I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I should have stuck to my earlier instincts. The movie was described as "a laugh a minute," but the only person laughing in the theater was the little boy sitting behind us who giggled every time the reality show guy asked "where are my pants." The movie exhibited such blatant advertising that it literally flashed product numbers during several of the scenes. I came home and Googled Amazon and found out that there is a whole line of new action sets you can build from the movie complete with instruction guides. I find this interesting as the whole theme of the movie was use your imagination and stop relying on the instructions to tell you what to do. We finished off the day with a stop-off at the grocery store. Do we know how to have fun or what???
