This week's Muny outdoor theater show was
Tarzan. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, since I couldn't imagine Tarzan as a musical, but it was actually pretty good. The music was by Phil Collins, but "George of the Jungle" was not one of the songs like Bruce thought they might sing. Luckily the evening was fairly mild, because all the actors playing gorillas were wearing dark, heavy costumes. Most of the gorillas formed the dancing chorus. They were really good, but I bet they were exhausted at the end of the performance, because many of their moves were done on bended knees, so they looked like monkeys running through the jungle.
