The temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure have been so high the last week that we knew something had to give. It finally erupted in a major storm Wednesday afternoon. The rain came down in horizontal sheets striking our house windows all the way underneath the porch roof. We heard a pop and lost power, not an uncommon occurrence when we have a really severe storm. But the really freaky part was that a tree had fallen down on the neighbor's house knocking down the power lines when it went. The fire department showed up and strung crime scene tape across our yard until the utility company could get out there to repair the live wires that had fallen on the ground. Whew. Creeped me out for sure.
