Since Bruce and I just finished biking the Katy Trail, we decided to try a new challenge for next year - hiking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. The Camino de Santiago is an old pilgrimage route that starts at the eastern border of Spain and runs 780 kilometers (almost 500 miles) to the western border. You actually only have to walk the last 100 kilometers (which is what we're planning) to received your certificate of completion. There is a Catholic mass and celebration when you get to the end at the shrine of St James the Great in Santiago.
So today to start our "training," we hiked the River Scene Trail in Castlewood State Park. I only logged 5 miles on my FitBit... 495 miles to go. After all that "rigorous" exercise, we had to stop at Cracker Barrel for their Catfish Friday lunch.
