I've also been doing a little sewing (on the dining room table, since there is no room on my desk for my sewing machine). I made Brian and his girlfriend, Amber, a pair of Christmas stockings. I intended to make some like my mom made for all my sisters and the grandkids - the simple ones that come pre-printed and pre-quilted and all you have to do is cut 'em out and sew 'em up. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any like that (I probably had to buy them in July when they first started putting Christmas decorations in the stores). But I think these turned out pretty good. All the Santas are cats - appropriate, since Amber has a cat named Teggie.

What's on Your Desk
There is a group called WOYD - What's on Your Desk - and each week they publish a photo of their desk and talk about what they are working on. Most of the time, I'm too embarrassed to show my desk, because it is a junky mess (like now), but with all the robot refereeing I haven't had time to clean it up just for a photo shoot. Currently, I'm making a December Daily (the big red arrow is pointing to it).
A December Daily is a journal where you are supposed to record what you did every day in December, usually in preparation for Christmas. I like making these journals; I just never seem to get around to actually filling them out. But this year my Journal Club is making them and we are all supposed to share what we've entered at the December Christmas party so maybe that will be a good incentive to actually write something down. We'll see.

In retrospect, I think the hardest part of the project wasn't sewing the stockings, but printing out the postage label to ship it to them. You'd think as much as I use computers, this would be easy to figure out, but I think I would have spent less time just going down to the Post Office and standing in line with the rest of the Christmas shippers.
