We went to see the Disney musical
Newsies - the true story of the New York City Newsboy Strike in 1899. While there weren't a lot of females in this production, it had a large number of very talented young male dancers. I love those kind of shows. Since our weather has cooled off, the outdoor theater was packed.
Newsies is one of the "newer" musicals sponsored by the Muny. Usually we get shows like
Paint Your Wagon or
Oklahoma. Next summer is the Muny's 100th season, so I'm wondering if their lineup will be contemporary or classic.
