A couple months ago, I decided to re-do the dining room by stripping off the old green wallpaper. Like most home renovation projects, nothing is ever easy. When I took off the wallpaper, I discovered an ugly blue wall. All I can say is, one of the previous owners of this house must have worked at the circus.
Bruce took over the renovation by patching the plaster cracks and priming the walls. But the bright white primer made the ceiling look dingy. After I took a tumble off the ladder (there's a reason the top step has a label saying not to sit there), Bruce took over re-painting the ceiling.
Then it was my turn to finally hang new wallpaper... again, not an easy task. In the 80's (back when wallpaper was popular), it came pre-pasted, so all you had to do was cut a length and dunk it in water. Nowadays you have to put the paste on yourself. It took me almost a week to do all four walls. We probably could have gotten this whole room done in a week if we'd just stuck with paint, but according to Tarek and Christina wallpaper is coming back. I certainly hope so, because this room is staying this way until we either die or sell the house.
