Trying to walk in real life in the Midwest is always a challenge. One minute you're sweating in 95-degree heat and the next you're mopping out your basement from the latest thunder storm that came flooding through the storm drains. But we both managed to get a little farther down I-70 with about a week to go until we meet. Janet made it all the way through Boonville to the banks of the Missouri River Bluffs - one of the most scenic spots in Missouri, in my opinion. I made it to Danville, just past the turnoff for Hermann. Since we're nearing the end of September, I should wait here for Janet and we can head down to Octoberfest. A beer and bratwurst sounds like a good way to celebrate.
