Robot Pets
The other day I was looking at YouTube and saw a new breed of designer dog called a "doodle." Doodles are formed by crossing a poodle with just about any other kind of dog. There are labradoodles (Labrador retriever and poodle), goldendoodles (golden retriever and poodle), aussiedoodles (Australian shepherd and poodle), schnoodles (schnauzer and poodle)... you name it; they've probably come up with it. The big advantage to a doodle is that it is hypoallergenic (aka, it's not supposed to shed). For the time being, I think I'll just stick with my robot cat and dog. I don't have to feed, walk, or clean up after them, plus I can turn them off if their meowing and barking start to get on my nerves.
We had a practice this week for the robotics tournament. I think we've got most of the bugs worked out and it actually might work. I just hope they don't give the team camera to some hyperactive kid or I'll be nauseous the whole day.
We finally got our Blue Apron meal service working again. It's been shut down for 2 months, because of delays in delivery service. But now that the holidays are over, I'm hoping there are no more problems, because it's a lot easier to let them do the grocery shopping. This was one of our meals this week - Calabrian Beef & Gnocchi. Very spicy, but delicious.
I took advantage of a rare 50 degree day and went on a river picnic with a friend of mine. I picked up breakfast wraps at Panera's. It's still closed for in-house dining, but luckily we found a park bench in the sun with a great view of the Missouri River. We even went for a 6-mile walk afterwards. You can tell how warm it got, because I was just wearing my hoodie (no coat).
Bruce and I finished watching The Queen's Gambit on Netflix. Great show. Even if you're not into chess, it's fun to watch a female beat out a bunch of men. This show came at a good time, because it compliments the next clue in the Land of Make Believe geocache I'm working on. This week, I'm supposed to find a name off the giant chessboard outside the Chess Museum in Central West End. I probably should have gone out Wednesday when it was sunny, because it's been snowing all day. The squares on the chessboard are probably covered in snow by now. Oh well.
