Another Hike
Bruce and I went back to Castlewood Canyon State Park for a more "relaxing" hike. First of all, we got up early so we could hike when it was cool (the sun gets pretty intense late morning and afternoon). We also did a much shorter loop than last time (only about 3 miles). You can see the size of the boulders that are all over this canyon. Luckily we finally found both our hiking poles (they were at the bottom of a box of Bruce's tools). Since we plan to take advantage of the state park trails this summer, we bought a season pass. It came with one of those passport books that you can stamp every time you visit a park. There are 41 state parks, so it will be interesting to see if I can fill up my book before the pass expires.
