Holiday Parties
Good grief, if I have to eat another cookie I'm going to burst. Janet better come up with some calorie-burning exercise goal for us next year, because living in this neighborhood is really packing on the pounds. This week I went to a cookie exchange with the Craft Club, only I think we did more sampling (eating) than exchanging. I only brought home a little baggie of leftover cookies.
We went out to dinner with some friends on Tuesday night (of course the one day this week that it snowed 2 inches!). We went to a French restaurant down in the city (drinks, appetizers, entrees). Then we walked through the holiday light display at the Botannical Garden. The lights were very pretty, but it was COLD...17 degrees!
Then the Girls Just Want to Have Fun Club had a holiday lunch. Each table was supposed to come up with a theme for food, decorations, and in some cases costumes. My table did a very simple theme, mostly because these women are already involved in several other clubs and committees.
But some tables really went overboard in their planning. These ladies had a North Pole theme, complete with elf and Mrs Claus costumes. If I still had my mannequin and her costumes, I could have joined this group (they bought all their stuff off Amazon).
One of my favorite tables though was the Feliz Navidad theme. Those margaritas looked really tasty.
