Alligator Lake

I was biking along the trail today admiring all the coastal dune lakes - shallow lakes filled with a mixture of fresh and salt water that were formed over 2,000 years ago by the wind redistributing the sand. They are supposed to be very rare, but there are a lot of them along the Gulf. Shallow or not, I came upon one called, "Alligator Lake." Yikes! Guess I won't be wading in any of these lakes.
