I went to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park today on my last day in Florida. I came upon this wide expanse of sand that almost looked like the snow at the base of a ski resort. There are two nice lakes in this park, but there were some foreboding signs along the water's edge warning people not to swim, because of the alligators. Luckily, I didn't see any alligators while I was out hiking. It's been a great month here in Florida - definitely better weather than St Louis. But if I do this again, I think I'll go further south where it is (hopefully) a little warmer.
