Day 14

Our last day, but no grass grows under Dr Tai’s feet. We got up early to squeeze in some last minute sight seeing. Our first stop was the St Ignatius Cathedral. This building is not very old by Chinese standards; it was built by the Jesuits around 1905. Right next door was a seminary. We saw several students looking out the doorway trying to take our picture, so we went over to take a group shot.

Our last stop before lunch and heading to the airport was the Shanghai Museum. They had some incredible displays of calligraphy, painting, and pottery, and I finally found some post card art that I can frame. Overall the trip was really enjoyable – one of those once-in-a-lifetime kind of trips. But I’ll have to admit, it sure was nice to sleep in my own bed when we got home.
