Airport

Reconstruction is underway at the St Louis airport that was severely damaged when a massive tornado tore into it on Good Friday. It's always amazing how selective the damage can be from a tornado. Since that date, I've flown out of the airport 3 times. In Terminal 2 (Southwest Air) you wouldn't even know anything had happened; it looks perfectly fine. The C concourse, where most American flights take off, is still missing all its windows, but they were able to reopen the airport almost immediately by moving the American gates to the unused D concourse. It's not too surprising that these windows haven't been replaced yet, since most of them are curved and must be custom cut. But this week, I flew out of the A concourse (Delta and United), and it is still a total mess. All the walls and floors are being replaced, so it's a bit of a nightmare for travelers trying to find a spot to sit down. I noticed they are going heavy on ceramic tile as a replacement material (tile floors and walls) - not only low maintenance, but waterproof!
