I finally finished some of my assignments from Carla Sonheim's
Imaginary Creatures class. The first week, we made simple creatures with layers of watercolor and pencil. You can certainly tell the difference between my engineer-perfectionist style in the first two creatures and Carla's looser sketchier style I was trying to emulate in the third and fourth creatures. The following weeks involved finding a creature within random watercolor strokes, and then adding different textures with colored pencils, markers, gesso, and charcoal. My elephant doesn't look exactly "creature-ish" (Bruce says he looks like he's been in a fight). I put other creatures on my
