The September theme for the Sketchbook Challenge is "unfurled," so this month I'm submitting this painting, because I like the long, curling tail. It looks like its unfurling to me. This technique is so simple. You sketch a drawing with a fine point Crayola marker (I used brown). Then you go over certain areas where you want shading with a wet brush. Just water, no paint. The water makes the ink from the marker bleed and blur. You have to be careful not to get any water in the background or the ink will smear outside the lines. Easy, schmeezy!
