This was the second weekend of LEGO robotics competitions. I really liked this team's mascot. They were the "Flaming Toast Robots." His costume was made from two large pieces of foam rubber glued together. I don't know how they browned the edges to make it look like toast, but the foam was so old that he tended to "crumble" when you got too close. The people below are some of my co-workers. The girl on the left has been my table re-setter and timer for the last four years. Don't let the hat fool you - she's the most reliable and responsible teenager around. The "queen" was the head ref, and her boyfriend in the middle was the scorekeeper. I get a break for Thanksgiving, and then I move up to ref'ing the high school contest. Oh boy!
