Today is the start of the 2012 LEGO robotics contest. The theme is
Senior Solutions - how to keep aging adults active and independent. This year's game looks like a lot of fun with some of the same old challenges like picking up objects, but some new things as well like getting the robot to climb stairs. I conducted a workshop on Saturday for 12 new coaches - some parents, some volunteer engineers, but all of them coaching all-girl teams sponsored by the Girl Scouts. Go Girls! The interest in robotics is getting so popular that we are having trouble finding enough space and referees to run the matches.
