Paris Day 8

Spring is finally coming to Paris. It's getting warmer - not quite time to leave my coat at home, but at least I'm not bundled up waiting for the next snow storm. We saw chairs like this set up around a lot of the public gardens and fountains so people can sit out and enjoy the nice weather. Courtney and I found a bench along the Seine to sit on - she read, while I sketched. Unfortunately we learned that mischievious little boys like to throw water balloons from the overhead walkways.
On Thursday nights, you can get into the d'Orsay Museum for half price. This is one of the most popular museums in Paris, because it houses famous paintings by many well-known artists (van Gogh, Monet, Cezanne, Renoir), but surprisingly there weren't many people there. It was such a pleasure to see the paintings up close without someone sticking an iPad camera in my face.
We stopped for a late-night drink at Place Saint-Michel, a public square in the Latin Quarter. The cafe had portable heaters, so we sat outside and watched all the people walking by.
We walked home along the Seine so we could see the lights. There were tons of boats filled with tourists cruising up and down the river, and we passed several walking groups getting late-night tours.
