New Phone
I decided to drag myself into the 21st century and dump my old flip phone for a smartphone. I think they call these "smart" phones, because you need a PhD in Communications to know how to use it. This phone gives me the time and date, tracks the weather, sends me my email, takes a picture, lets me read a Kindle book or watch a movie, and counts my steps when I go for a walk, but I had a devil of a time figuring out how to place a phone call. Maybe no one actually talks on these phones any more, because you feel like you're holding a laptop up to your ear. (BTW, I was told by a much younger friend that you aren't supposed to hold it like a traditional phone, but just leave it lying on the table and talk to it. I wonder when they'll invent a phone that will clean the house.)
