Solar Energy

Today was solar energy day. We had a speaker in the morning - a former graduate of the school who went off and started his own solar panel installation company. He said his company is growing, because even though the solar panels are being made in China, somebody local has to install them and it might as well be him. Sounds like a smart philosophy to me. Afterwards we made solar cookers - not the highest level activity, but everyone seemed to really get into it, especially when we ate the hot dogs that we cooked. Believe it or not, the cookers actually got hot enough to leave a "griddle" mark on the bottom of the hot dogs. It probably didn't hurt that it was 96ยบ out today.
