In today's workshop, the participants learned to weld. I certainly didn't teach them; I just organized it, but everyone jumped right in. The instructor had a little competition at the end to build the strongest I-beam out of scrap pieces of iron. It was really interesting to watch the beams getting loaded. You wouldn't believe it, but with a strong enough force, those heavy pieces of iron just bent like a pretzel. I took over in the afternoon and, of course, we built robots. One of the instructors had his own robot - a giant tank with a Spiderman driver.
