Cardinals Win 2-1

Courtney came to town and we celebrated Bruce's first day of retirement with a trip to the Cardinals' game. It was bobble-head doll night, modeled after the Cardinals' manager, Mike Matheny. The game was sort of slow (not much scoring and lots of long breaks for TV commercials), so fans filled the down time watching FredBird do his dance, clapping along with the organ music, catching t-shirts from the cheerleaders, snapping pictures of the blinking McDonald French fry (don't ask), and eating, eating, eating (I bet they sold 2 tons of nachos alone). It's been a while since I've been to the ball park, but the focus doesn't really seem to be on the baseball game these days. Finally, in the 10th inning (unfortunately they went into overtime), Pete Kozma stole home base when the Seattle catcher fumbled the pitch and the Cardinals won the game. Oh boy.
