Arkansas

Since there aren't a lot of opportunities for outdoor activities in Branson (unless you count shopping at the outlet mall in the rain), we headed south to Jean Petit State Park in Arkansas. We rented a really nice cabin at the top of a cliff overlooking the valley.
The nicest thing about the cabin was the swing on the back porch. We spent a lot of time there watching the sunsets and just chilling out especially after the enormous dinners at the lodge.
We went on a couple hikes while we were there - the first day down, down, down into the valley to see a waterfall. The waterfall itself was a bit disappointing (just a trickle), since there hasn't been much rain in this area for several months, but the rock hollows were really impressive.
This was a popular drive-up spot for people to stop and take photos without having to do any actual hiking along the trails. Three carloads of people drove up just after this photo was taken.
