I've been itching to do some sewing, but I don't really have any projects around right now that need sewing. Then I hit on the idea of making some doll clothes for Baby Violet. She doesn't really have an American Girl doll yet, but I know one of these days her mother or grandmother or even me is going to buy her one. I got Courtney's old doll down from the attic and bought a pattern and some fabric. Goodness fabric is expensive these days. I could have made myself a dress for the cost of this doll dress. But then I saw the prices of doll clothes on the American Girl website and figured I was money ahead. I think the new dress turned out very stylish - little leggings and a lace skirt, just like all the girls are wearing now. The only thing Courtney's poor little doll needs is a hair makeover. Maybe I should take her over to the American Girl beauty salon, though I'd probably have to cash in my 401K to afford it.
