No Lights
How can this tiny little light bulb cause so much frustration? Two weeks ago when I got my oil changed, the mechanic called and said one of my headlights was out. No problem - he had a replacement bulb. So we were on the last day of our trip to North Carolina. We decided to get up early to get a head start on the 10-hour drive home. We left the room key on the dresser (since the front desk of the lodge was not manned 24 hours), threw the suitcases in the trunk, and jumped in the car only to discover we had no headlights. Granted, the moon was almost full, but it wasn't nearly bright enough to drive, plus no key to get back into the room. Luckily, the gas station next door was open, so we had some place to go until the sun came up. I learned later that headlight bulbs are very finicky and getting any grease on them from your fingers will cause them to burn out. So lesson learned - don't get your light bulbs replaced by the guy who changes your oil.
