We went to see the musical
Billy Elliot at the Muny outdoor theater last night. It's the story of a coal miner's son who wants to become a ballet dancer. I wanted to see this musical, because the music was written by Elton John, but while the songs were pretty good, the singing wasn't that great. What was funny to me was that there was a sentence in the program asking people not to sing along during the show. I don't think it would have made a difference. The dancing numbers, however, were amazing - very talented children and they had a ton of them on-stage. The only problem with the Muny is that it is so hot and humid in the summer. I bought a beer at the concession stand trying to cool off, but then I was fighting to stay awake. I'm not used to being up past 8pm.
