More Delorme map book. This time we checked off all the pages in the Boot Heel of the state. Some of the pages were a little tricky, because only a tiny chunk of Missouri fell on the page (most of it was in Illinois, Kentucky, or Tennessee). When you get off the beaten path, you find some very unusual caches. One cache was hidden under a fir tree sitting next to some horse statues. It was in a shopping area called "Boomland." The name refers to the fireworks store, not the gas station. Down the road, we found another cache hidden under a big old pine tree. The owner had created a complete fairy garden in miniature. You just never know what you're going to find.
