Race Cars

Thank goodness I'm teaching robot camp and not one of the other camps at Ranken. Today was show-and-tell day for parents, so we took our students to see some of the other campers during lunch. This was the go-kart camp. The kids built real go-karts this week, and then spent all day racing each other. These were gasoline-powered go-karts, not the kind that just roll down the hill from gravity. The kids drove so fast - it made me nervous watching them race around the parking lot. Another camp was welding. The students made metal sculptures and barbeque fire starters. Ironically, the only person that got burned during that camp was the instructor. Yesterday, the students in the aviation camp got to fly in a 2-seater plane. Some of them even took over the controls for a brief moment. It was hard to say which camp was the best. They were all amazing.
