I'm not really into making Christmas cookies. Eating them... yes; baking them... not really. But I couldn't resist the dark chocolate chips I saw at the store last weekend. So I decided to start off the month of December by baking chocolate chip cookies. They tasted as good as they look, though they don't really look like the picture in the cookbook. I don't know what I do wrong, but my cookies always turn out very thin and flat.
Every December I have a little Christmas party with my movie group. There are 12 of us, so I can serve dinner on my 12 Days of Christmas plates. In preparation for this year's party and as a loose reference to the theme, I thought I'd undertake the 12 Days of Cleaning. Cute, huh? Every day I plan to clean one room in the house so it will all be nice and shiny for the party. Given my aversion to housework, we'll see if it lasts beyond the first day.
