Quirky Characters

I'm taking an online YouTube class by Crafty Hodges called, How To Collage Quirky Characters. It's a 6-part series in which she shows you different ways to mix random bits of paper into these colorful creatures. In the first few lessons we printed off digital collage sheets with random arms, legs, faces, eyes, and bodies to cut out and glue together to make the characters. Basically, the more unrelated the parts, the "quirkier" the creature looks. In the last lessons, she showed you how to cut out elements from magazines to assemble into characters. The 4 figures in the top photo were ones I made following her instructions. The 4 figures below were ones I made on my own. Notice the different bodies I made from magazine ads - a face cream bottle, an orange juice container, a perfume bottle, and a wristwatch. This was a fun class and a relaxing way to spend a few days. You certainly don't have to worry about having any artistic talent to take this class, because I seriously doubt you could screw it up.
