Even though I've been refereeing robotics competitions for the past 10 years, the new person in charge has decided that we all need to be trained. Yes, there's a new theme each year and yes, there are new mission models, but let's face it... it's essentially the same game with a different name. Kids build a robot to pick things up, push different buttons, and carry things around. But I went, thinking since it was at the Girl Scout Office I'd get to preview some of the models the teams were building, plus they were serving pizza. Turns out, they shuffled all the adults off to a separate room while the kids hung out with the pizza. Bummer.
