White Christmas

We had to open a few Christmas presents early this year. The main reason was for Bruce - he got tickets to the Mizzou/Illinois basketball game. The game was in St Louis on Saturday night - Christmas Eve Eve. Even though Mizzou lost, Bruce was still happy to get a chance to see the game. It was lucky we were even able to get the tickets, because they were sold out almost as soon as they went on sale.
Courtney went to the game with Bruce - my "present" was getting to stay home.
Actually I said I wanted to avoid the crowds, but really I wanted a chance to play with my new robot, Vernie, from the Lego Boost set.
I think I'm getting a little obsessed with robots, though. This past year I got 4 new ones, in addition to the ones I already had. My boss just sent me the new one in the lower left, mBot, which is still in the box - it's one of those assemble-yourself things.
Courtney got to open a few of her presents, too - a coffeepot, a Mizzou t-shirt, and a drawing tablet to use with her computer. Bruce said he was worried about Courtney getting carpel tunnel, but I think he got her the drawing tablet so she'll keep doing the artwork for his book covers.
We were going to save the rest of the presents until Christmas Eve, but we woke up Saturday morning to snow on the ground. So we had to open our new snowshoes we got from Santa. Snowshoes are a bit of overkill right now, since the snow wasn't even sticking to the sidewalks and streets, but you never know how much snow we're going to get when January rolls around.
