Biking

I've been trying to squeeze in a few bike rides before winter sets in. The Katy Trail in St Charles is no longer flooded from all the spring and summer rains we had, but they're still trying to recover from all the damage. Frontier Park was flooded for so long that it killed all the grass and most of the trees. On the other hand, the water lilies are going crazy, but the sewage smell is kind of strong.
Since so much of the Katy Trail is closed for renovation, I decided to try out some of the trails in city parks. They aren't as long, but they are easy to ride on, because they're paved. The only problem with city park trails is that you have to share them with walkers, skaters, dogs, and baby strollers. A couple parks have connecting bridges that go across the river and hook up with the Katy Trail - something good to know in case we get more flooding next year.
I finally gave up and just re-enrolled in my exercise class. Our teacher thought we looked a little scraggly, so she bought us matching t-shirts for this group photo. I think we all look pretty happy and fit for a bunch of Silver Sneakers.
