2020 Fitbit Challenge

One of my New Year's resolutions is to walk 2.4 million steps by the end of the year (approximately 1,200 miles). That averages out to 200,000 steps per month. But my sister, Janet, is fighting her newly-enrolled Medicare status, as well as trying to lose a few pounds before her Panama Canal cruise, so she challenged me to walk 250,000 steps this month. We also invited Courtney to join us since she recently found her missing Fitbit charger. I thought it would be fun to "virtually" walk along the coast of Florida, since we're all planning Florida vacations this year. But when I Google'd the stats, I found out that the coast of Florida is 8,436 miles long! The Appalachian Trail was only 2,181 miles long and we only made it through half of that when we virtually hiked it. But I'm not planning to literally walk the edge. We'll travel along the coast highways, which should significantly reduce the length. We'll see how far we get.
