We bought a new house... or rather, we're having one built in the spot Bruce is standing in. It's on a cul-de-sac in one of those 55+ communities with a pool, clubhouse, and walking trails - a huge change for us, since we've lived in historic old houses most of our married life.
The house is all on one level, but because the lot is on a hill, it will have a walk-out basement. I love the stone and huge windows on the front of the house. Those 2 windows will actually be mine and Bruce's offices.
We spent the last couple weeks customizing the house - picking paint colors, floors, kitchen cabinets, shower tile, etc. My head is spinning with all the decisions we had to make. It's a lot easier to buy a house that's already built and just re-paint the walls after living in it for a while. But it's been an adventure (what else are we going to do with our free time during COVID). The house will be ready next May, so happy 70th birthday to Bruce in advance!
