Virtual Classrooms
With so many students going back to school online, I've been fascinated with how teachers are creating virtual classrooms. One of the more popular platforms is Google classroom. So I sat down one morning, went through a few tutorials, and created a virtual classroom of my own. I can see how kids would get really excited about this type of learning, because it's like playing a game searching for all the embedded links. For example, if you were to click on the Alice in Wonderland book (in the virtual classroom, not in this picture), it would take you to a website where you could read the entire story. Same with the Albert Einstein poster - if you clicked on it, it could take you to a biography or a science experiment. I even created my own little Bitmoji avatar (character wearing the baseball hat). I had to Google Bitmoji to know what that was, but it wasn't too difficult to make. Frankly, I hope some of these new techniques get incorporated into 21st century schools, because looking at teachers via Zoom all day long could get pretty boring.
