Bruce has been selling old tools and furniture on Facebook the past couple weeks, but in an effort to get rid of the last bit of junk we're not taking to Colorado, he held a garage sale. I personally voted to give everything to Goodwill, because I doubted anyone would come. But boy was I wrong. People started showing up at 6:55am. Most said they were desperate to have the opportunity to get out of the house after being quarantined for a year and almost everyone walked away with something. By the end of the day, there was very little left in the garage.
So to celebrate, we headed off to Mi Ranchito. We decided to be brave and eat inside the restaurant rather than get takeout. Is that ever a weird feeling these days. But there weren't very many inside diners at Mi Ranchito. The neighborhood restaurants with outdoor patios, however, were packed, probably with those same people from the garage sale desperate to get out and feel normal again.
Notice I'm drinking an ice cold beer. It's been ages since I've had an ice cold anything to drink, because our refrigerator has been getting worse and worse. We were able to limp along for a couple weeks using only the bottom 2 shelves in the refrigerator and freezer sides, but this past weekend it gave up the ghost. So we headed out to try to buy another minifridge to tide us over (this time directly from the store, not online like our last disaster). It's going to be interesting cutting back to one-tenth the cold space we had before, but I consider it a natural diet enhancer... Since there's no freezer section in this tiny thing, I won't be able to eat ice cream or make ice for my DP.
