We're Finally In
We went from this...
to this - all in a few hours. You never realize how much junk you have until you have to empty all the closets and pack it into boxes. And this is just the living room and kitchen stuff.
Our house is on a cul-de-sac, so their isn't a lot of space to begin with, but right when our mover showed up, so did a mass of construction workers and delivery trucks. For an entire week, we never saw anyone working on the house next door, but a framing crew showed up early Thursday morning. They told me they were bringing in a crane at noon to position the support beams in the basement. So I immediately got on the phone and told our truck driver to hustle along so he could beat the crane (which he did). Another crew was jackhammering sections of sidewalk across the street. Amazon Prime, FedEx, and UPS all drove by with deliveries for different neighbors. The street was a total zoo.
Around 1:00pm, a food truck showed up. This must be a common occurrence, because all the construction workers ran over to get lunch. Bruce managed to snag us some short ribs and tortillas (yum).
By the end of the day, I was exhausted, but at least we had an assortment of chairs to sit in (no more sitting on the floor). My office is a total mess, but I'll worry about that tomorrow.
