Each year I usually bring out my 12 Days of Christmas dishes when I invite my Nerinx teacher friends over for a holiday lunch. But this year, since we're no longer in St Louis, I had a Zoom party. I'm actually not the only person who's moved away, so for a party game, we played Scattergories based on Nerinx trivia. But you know we've been retired too long when we couldn't even come up with answers for simple categories like popular student names (starting with the letter "H") and reasons for demerits (starting with the letter "P"). I think out of 20 categories, the top score was 7.
But I still got to use my 12 Days of Christmas dishes when I invited some of my bike club friends over for a happy hour. I was really proud of the cheese tray I made for an appetizer.
We also attended the Pickleball holiday party. Even though I've taken the pickleball training class twice, I've yet to actually play a game. Maybe I should make that a New Year's resolution.
