Yesterday I met the Urban Sketchers at the Botanical Garden. It was 68° and the sun was so strong, I put on a double-layer of sunscreen.
When I first walked into the garden, the lady at the ticket window said, "It's your lucky day. The crocus are blooming." I thought this sounded a bit strange, since crocus always bloom in March, but I didn't realize how obsessed Denverites are about crocus. Everyone was talking about them and taking pictures. One guy even laid right down on the trail to take close-ups.
But the spring weather was short-lived, because we woke up today to more snow. I can't believe that yesterday I was sitting on these lawn chairs in a t-shirt drinking a beer.
Poor Bruce spent St Patrick's Day shoveling the driveway. He tried using his little snow blower, but the snow was extremely wet, heavy, and deep.
