Happy May Day

...or maybe not. Back in Missouri, we had a saying, "it always snows in March." My cousin, Shelley, said in Colorado "it always snows in May." I thought (hoped) she was exaggerating, but this morning when I went out to spread some mulch on the garden, big fat snowflakes started to fall from the sky (and quite vigorously, as a matter of fact). Oh well, everyone says we need the water as it hasn't snowed or rained a drop since March.

On the bright side, I discovered I have a Bradford pear tree blooming beside my driveway. I'm curious to see what other things come up this spring, because most of the landscaping the builder put in just looked dead all winter.
